Ferrari GTC4 Lusso Revealed with New Name, More Power

After four years in production, the Ferrari FF gets a new name and a new face as part of an extensive update to the car. We knew the updated model was on the way, as the refreshed FF was previously spied out for testing wearing minimal camouflage, and Ferrari released a small teaser image last week before the official reveal.
The name for Ferrari’s updated 2+2 comes from the brand’s storied history, and the new GTC4 Lusso badge holds a fair bit of water among the Cavallino Rampante devotees. Ferrari says the GTC’s name is inspired by the Ferrari 330 GTC and the 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso, which combined high-luxe, daily-driver capability with the long-legged and fast grand-tourer attitude that made Ferrari famous.

Despite the identical proportions, the GTC4 Lusso isn’t just a dinky visual refresh of the controversial FF hatchback. In the front, a new, sharper face has been pulled from the big-brother Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. Deep side scallops are carved out of bottom half of the doors, giving the GTC4 an extremely aggressive appearance, and the rear end is far more aggressive than before, with a giant diffuser and quad exhaust tips.
Underneath the new skin resides the same 6.3-liter V-12 as before, but now with a 30-hp boost to 681 hp. Torque jumps as well, up 10 lb-ft to a total of 514. As was the case with the outgoing FF, the GTC4 is Ferrari’s only all-wheel-drive model. The complex system now integrates rear-wheel steering, which Ferrari first implemented on the recent F12 TDF. Previous reports said the GTC4 would get a new eight-speed transmission, but Ferrari has yet to confirm the type of transmission the GTC4 carries.
Performance with the upgraded engine is staggering, with a 0-62 mph time of 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 208 mph. That’s compared to the 3.7 seconds it took the FF to sprint to 62 mph, per Ferrari’s figures.

Inside the Ferrari GTC4 Lusso, it’s business as usual, with a boatload of premium materials and surfaces that befit the astronomic price tag. The GTC4 also marks the debut of a new 10-inch infotainment touchscreen, along with a new steering wheel.
